Mary McCormack was an American actress, best known for her portrayals as the lead character in TV series such as "Murder One", "The West Wing", "In Plain Sight" and Loaded. Her work is also well-known due to her roles in movies such as 'Private Parts', 'Deep Impact', "True Criminal' and '1408'. McCormack was the daughter of the owner of an ice cream shop and a clinical psychologist. Her family has no connections to the entertainment industry. McCormack was a student at Wardlaw-Hartridge School and, following her parents' divorce in 1990, she was accepted to Trinity College in Hartford in Connecticut. Her graduation was in the BA program for Comparative arts. When she was just 12, her stage career started with a performance of "Amahl, and the Night Visitor", a holiday opera. The actress continued her performances in the theatre as well as landing roles that were on small screens as well as the big screen. In the present, McCormack is recognized as one of the best artistes in Hollywood. Michael Morris (producer/director) is the husband of McCormack. The couple has three daughters.
