
Lizzo joined a prog-rock band in which she sang and played flute. Her family relocated to Denver and she was now in her own space, striving to make Houston her new home. Lizzo was living on her own in her car, often lying on the floor of her studio recording studio she also washed her hair at the gym. Her father passed away when she was just twenty-one. They had been friends, and it was a tragic loss. Following the death of her father she left the prog rock band. Following a brief stint in Denver in 2010, Lizzo moved to Minneapolis upon the request of a friend in the year 2011. She soon found herself in the center of the Minneapolis music scene. She was a member of the girls' group Chalice and GRRRL PRTY. Her debut album, Lizzobangers was released in 2013 on an independent label.
