Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine was born on 1 June 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. Alanis' Greek is a female form of the name Alan's father's. Her siblings are Chad (Alanis Twin) and Wade. She began playing the guitar and piano when she was just 21. Alanis released a hit single from 1986 called Fate Stay with Me (b Side: Find The Right Man). In Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop albums: Alanis (in 1991) and The Time Is The Time in 1992. At the age of 18, she left NYC to Toronto, where her collaborations with musicians and songwriters failed. In 1994, she finally discovered the perfect partner in producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had already worked with many musicians, such as Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. After moving to LA the singer turned 19 in the year 1994. The Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill", on June 13th 15th, 1995. Alanis's tracks were autobiographical. JLP is the third most popular album in the history of music and has been sold 30 million times around the world.
